I started a new piece today of a common grackle that frequents my mango trees. I love painting on raw linen. It makes for such a warm background. I have to hold back from wanting to sew the canvas like I did on this piece. The bird is going to have a small twig in it's mouth...I'm tempted to sew that part in. Hmmm. What to do. Or maybe embroider the leaves after it's painted for some texture. Decisions, decisions.
